Company: DSAE Cosford

Job Title: Specialist Technical Aircraft Instructor (Airframe/Propulsion) at DSAE Cosford, Wolverhampton, WV7 3EX.

This contract will be going on until the end of March 2017 with the possibility of being extended a further six months although this cannot be guaranteed, working 37 hours per week for 44.4 weeks per year, paying £21.96 per hour Ltd / £17.63 per hour PAYE. There is also the possibility of this becoming a permanent position for the right candidate - again this cannot be guaranteed.

The successful candidates will be responsible to the Apprenticeship Management Group (AMG) for classroom and practical instruction.

There is a requirement for a Specialist Instructional Officer (SIO) Mechanical in the Assessment Managers Group at Royal Air Force Cosford for RAF technicians and IDT (foreign Students). Primary role will be foreign students however the role also requires the incumbent to mark, create and invigilate exams for RAF students as well.

Duties will include
•Creating, marking and invigilating all exams to RAF and IDT students.
•Responsible for the upkeep of all questions in the data base
•Attending review boards as requested.

Requirements for the post are as follows

Essential

•Military experience minimum 12 years in Airframes/propulsion (if ex-RAF applicants to have reached the rank of Corporal/Sergeant)
•Experienced in rotary and fixed wing
•CTTLS teaching qualification or equivalent or
•Basic Instructor training within a military environment
•Knowledge of TAFMIS (although training will be given)
•Ability and willingness to work closely with foreign students, International Defence Training (IDT)
•Ability to work to tight deadlines

Desirable

•Certificate of Education (2 year course teaching theory & practice) or PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate of Education)
•Degree in science or engineering
•Knowledge of the Defence Systems Approach to Training process - highly desirable

The role will include creating, overseeing and marking exams, therefore previous experience with Exam creation is beneficial.

The successful applicant will have to apply for Scottish Disclosure Certificate and undergo an MOD Security Clearance check.
