Description

GrainCorp is a leading international agribusiness and food-ingredients processor, with a diverse range of operations that span four continents and supply customers in over 30 countries.

Our offering of grain storage, handling, marketing and malt & oilseeds processing operations help our valued customers meet the demands of a rapidly growing global population.

At GrainCorp, our people are the heart of everything we do. We're committed to enhancing our high performing team by developing a skilled workforce and encouraging diversity of both people and thinking.

It's great for you, and it's great for our customers.

Together we go places.

Your challenge:

The Site manager supervises a team of grain handlers (perm and harvest casuals) to ensure that the site runs smoothly and efficiently, especially during harvest.

You will assist the Area Manager in planning, resourcing receivables and out-loading of grain during peak and off-peak periods.

Maintaining an awareness of local priorities and issues is essential in order to help build and develop relationships with growers and customers.

Safety is a core value at GrainCorp and this person will follow and will help to ensure others follow all OHS systems and procedures.

Your skills and experience:

Ideally, you will have hands-on experience in a supervisory role gained within agriculture, maintenance, mining, rail or similar.

However, we're more than willing to develop someone into this role if they can demonstrate potential to be a good operational and people leader.

We're looking for someone with good behaviours: committed to developing, supporting and engaging their team; able to build positive and productive relationships; self-managing and enthusiastic.

A sound working knowledge of OH&S requirements is essential. Basic computing skills are required to work in our systems, as well as with calendar, email and spreadsheet tools.

Finally, an undergraduate degree or trade qualification would also be useful but isn't essential.

Together we are safer

Safety is a core value at GrainCorp, we are committed to a zero harm' environment and we act consciously every day to keep ourselves and our teams safe.

GrainCorp is committed to improving employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and welcomes applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
