Systems Engineer (Avionics Systems/ Hawk/ Flight Control). Opportunities have arisen for Avionic Systems Engineers, these positions are required to meet increased demand for systems engineering activity on existing and new projects. In this role you will utilise your experience and expertise to solve systems engineering problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals within the aviation industry



Responsibilities:

* Capturing, understanding and documenting the customer's system requirements
* Creating system designs which specify control, display, monitoring and built in test functions for implementation in electronic hardware and software
* Creating and performing systems tests
You may also be required to:
* Design avionic systems architectures in co-operation with aircraft manufacturers
* Create model-based designs using state-of-the-art computer aided systems and software engineering tools
* Perform avionic system analysis, modelling and simulation
* Perform system safety analysis, including hazard assessment and fault tree analysis
* Develop requirements for systems test facilities
* Define aircraft installation requirements for avionics



Requirements:

* Previous experience in an avionic, automotive or similar embedded systems development environment.
* Experience of creating avionic system designs, for implementation in hardware and software.
* Experience of creating and performing systems tests.
* An understanding of embedded software and / or hardware engineering.
* Experience of the systems design lifecycle within aerospace or a similar industry

* Degree in Engineering or similar level of knowledge and experience.
* Project scheduling experience
* Six Sigma training
* Ability to achieve results in a matrix environment
* Ability to understand and implement customer and industry standards
* Ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment
* Ability to engage and build positive relationships with both customers and internal and external employees
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
* It is desired that the candidate be capable of using modelling and simulation tools to model and validate complex system solutions.
* Use of requirements management tools e.g. DOORS
* Use of system design and modelling tools, e.g. MATLAB Simulink, SCADE, VAPS, Artisan OOA.

* In-depth product knowledge of avionic systems including one or more of the following: Electrical Power Management Systems, Electronic Displays, Data Concentrators, Landing Gear Control Systems, Fuel Gauging Systems.
