Design Organisation Post Holder (CVE or Form 4)
Carbon60 currently have a position for one of clients, who is seeking an experienced full time Design Organisation Post Holder (CVE or Form 4) within their design department. They are an industry leader in specialised and innovative solutions for aviations most complex challenges. An EASA approved Design Organisation (DOA), providing design, production and maintenance services to support the other business units within their group and external organisations.
The Design Organisation Post Holder (CVE or Form 4) will initially be based at Northamptonshire and will move to their facility in South Yorkshire in the first half of 2017 following a team relocation. Therefore the ideal candidate will be within commuting distance of both sites or willing to relocate.
The successful Design Organisation Post Holder (CVE or Form 4) will identify and maximise the untapped potential of the aircraft to provide new and innovative solutions. Following appropriate exposure and successful training, you will be empowered to drive a project from concept to completion, working not only with the customer but the manufactures, installers, aviation authorities and pilots. You will be producing, checking and verifying design data, drawings and compliance documentation to support delivery and certification of the project.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience within an aviation design environment and have the following skills and experience:
Previous senior role within a design environment or post holder position (CVE or Form 4)
Ability to support commercial proposals regarding resource efforts
Ability to manage personnel and provide guidance to junior staff where appropriate
Examples of interaction with EASA and CAA UK regarding design projects
Experience of working Production Facilities and data control
Proven examples of developing designs from concept to detailed drawings
Compiling stress or electrical systems reports
Checking and approving of certification documentation
Technical checking, compliance verification of designs, drawings, reports and certification documentation developed by others
Thorough knowledge of EASA requirements for fixed wing aircraft and Part 21, particularly subpart J
Excellent 3D CAD skills (solidworks) and general computer literacy
Attention to detail
Good communication skills
Willingness to support internal training programme and continuous improvement policy
Knowledge and experience of BCAR and DAOS procedures/projects desirable
