Blue Islands is a privately and independently owned Channel Islands based regional airline, which became a Flybe franchise partner in 2016, operating flights in Flybe branded aircraft between the Channel Islands and to the UK. Blue Islands operates an all ATR fleet comprising of ATR 72 and ATR 42 aircraft and employs 100 people across its bases in Guernsey and Jersey.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Revenue Manager will be responsible for maximising ticket revenue across the Blue Islands network by deploying a range of strategic and tactical revenue management techniques to optimise the yield / volume mix.

The role holder will be responsible for analysing sales data, identifying trends, forecasting demand and monitoring the competitive environment to feed the company’s revenue plan. Tactical and strategic pricing and inventory control responsibilities, to deliver the network revenue plan, will also form a key focus of the role.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated, dynamic and analytically minded individual with prior experience within a revenue management role. A strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products is essential, notably Excel, with experience of the AirRM revenue management package, MySQL coding and GDS practices being extremely desirable.

Key Tasks Management Information

  • Routine and ad hoc sales performance reporting to include detailed review by
    • route
    • sales channel (including GDS, OTA, direct web, call centre)
    • origin
    • etc
  • Provide dynamic forecast of expected period close sales position, including budget variances
  • Analytical review and improvement of revenue forecasting and other financial models in light of sales performance
  • Primary driver of revenue budgeting and presentation of revenue expectation to senior management
  • Monitor key corporate and trade partners sales performance, feeding back to the wider Commercial and Sales teams on trends and observations

Revenue Management – Pricing and Inventory Management

  • Validate range of fares and available inventory configuration (profiles) for effectiveness
  • Analysis of fare profiles in light of market demand, competitor pricing, competitor scheduling and customer purchase behaviour as well as internal cost base to continuously improve revenue and net income outcomes
  • Recommendations for corrective action in response to sales performance and wider market forces
  • Implementation of tactical and strategic revenue management initiatives in the host reservations system, via the AirRM revenue management system
  • Ongoing monitoring of intervention outcomes to inform future decision making

Price Promotion & Marketing

  • Identify emergent sales variances for tactical sales promotion
  • Develop promotion format, including fixed fare, % discount and absolute discount formats among others.
  • Close liaison with the marketing team to conceive and implement promotional activity to rectify forecast variances or capitalise on identified market shifts


  • Working with the wider Commercial team, optimise capacity through scheduling and aircraft deployment in light of market demand
  • Lead revenue integrity audit process
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required and appropriate
