Job Description

Morson are currently seeking a Resourcing Specialist on behalf of their client, an internationally-recognised defence contractor, for their site at Devonport Dockyard. The Resourcing Specialist will implement a resourcing strategy to meet the current and future needs of the business while fully understanding the external labour market and providing solutions to candidate approach to ensure proactive candidate attraction. This role is being resourced on a temporary-to-permanent basis, with an initial contract period of 6-12 months.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working internally with the business to undertake a number of resourcing-related projects to strengthen the employee value proposition.
  • Work on a resourcing strategy to drive proactive candidate attraction and facilitate the on-boarding process.
  • Leading a variety of resourcing activities to ensure networking potential is fulfilled and the profile of the business is raised within the Professional Engineer community.
  • Manage and direct on recruitment activities to ensure best candidates are selected, recruitment process is conducted efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance to policy.
  • Deliver activities including advertising, shortlisting, pre-screening, telephone interviewing, interviewing, testing, candidate selection, negotiation on employment offers, relocation packages, etc.
  • Liaison with functional and operational management to implement and develop resourcing strategies appropriate to each departmental need/requirement, in order to remain consistent with overall policy/procedure.
  • Maintain a strong interface with recruitment administrators to ensure the organisation's recruitment strategy is implemented. Influence and support the improvement of the onboarding process at a site-wide level.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and benchmarking when appropriate and ensure the business is competitive and attractive to candidates in terms of salary, packages, advertising, and benefits. Work with central HR to support the delivery of transformation initiatives, e.g. projects relating to grading structures and improvement programmes.
  • Manage, build, and maintain a talent pool of suitably experienced and qualified candidates to include passive and active candidates.
  • Manage ongoing relationships with approved recruitment agencies and be accountable to ensure standards of service as described in the SLA are met.
  • Establish and manager a manpower demand plan to forecast supply and demand needs.
  • Manage the evaluation of external candidate/labour market conditions and internal employee turnover trends to enable recommendations of changes of the organisation's recruitment and reward strategies, in order to adapt to changing market conditions.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have some or all of the following:

  • Demonstrable experience of recruitment consultancy/resourcing
  • Knowledge of the engineering/nuclear industry would be beneficial
  • Experience of targeted advertisement/recruitment campaigns for niche roles
  • Proven track record of achieving targets, with a proactive work ethic and attention to detail
  • Ability to write reports for and engage with all levels of the business
  • Experience of maintaining a live pipeline of candidates
  • Good level of IT ability
  • Educated to HNC/HND standard or equivalent
  • Resourcing/recruitment qualification (desirable)
  • Experience of Success Factors (desirable)
