Oaklands Global is looking to recruit a Reliability Engineer on behalf of an international Aerospace & Defence Company. This is a permanent role based in the South West of England.

 

Job Description

The function of the Reliability Engineer is to influence the company’s product R&M. The expectation is that through analysis of reliability, the successful applicant will advise on the selection, application and test of components and systems and recommend methods for achieving reliability objectives.

 

The role would suit an individual who is educated to at least HNC/HND/Degree level in an engineering discipline or has broad practical and theoretical engineering experience.  Familiarity with Reliability techniques in the R&M field would be an advantage, but is not essential; it is expected that on the job training will be provided.

 

As a Reliability Engineer your experience MUST include:

  • Come from an Avionics background, have previously worked with Reliability related software tools (Reliability Workbench, RELEX etc).
  • Experience in the practical application of the following techniques (not exhaustive); maintainability analyses FMECA, DFMEA, Reliability Predictions, Reliability Cases, Testability Analysis, De-rating Analysis.
  • An understanding of Logistic Support Analysis, Life Cycle Cost Analysis, Contractor Logistic Support, Safety Case, HAZOP and HAZAN.
  • Experience of aircraft systems and maintenance, particularly airframe, fuel.

 

 

As a Reliability Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Computer literate.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings
  • Experience of engineering systems and maintenance would be an advantage
  • Verbal and written communications abilities will be necessary
  • Awareness of practical application FMEA and Reliability Predictions and Cases would be expected

 

 

As a Reliability Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:

  • To conduct Reliability analyses on mechanical and electrical products through Reliability Predictions, FMEA and other techniques.
  • To provide Engineering reports on the results of the techniques listed above.
  • To co-operate with management to meet the employer’s legal duties and take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
