Job summary To provide swissport’s Cardiff International’s (CWL) based into-plane refueling and tank farm management activities with leadership and technical expertise.  To directly manage the CWL fuelling operation. Job responsibilities  The following responsibilities are associated with this job role:
  • Ensure the fuelling operation remains JIG compliant
  • Ensure that correct qhsse is applied within the ncl fuelling operation
  • Ensure robust systems are in place to meet the expectations of JIG, IFQP and airline auditors/inspectors
  • To attend and present fuelling related data to the CWL fuel committee
  • Management and control of site deputy manager and fuelling team leaders to ensure they safely, effectively and efficiently perform their tasks
  • Continually develop and maintain good working relationships with CWL airport authority, aviation fuel suppliers, logistic companies and airlines
  • Ensure the maintenance of a good working relationship with swissport ground handling and business development teams to promote a 'one team' mind-set
  • Identify and develop key commercial and growth opportunity projects together with Swissport
  • Ensure that service providers, agents or dealers operating swissport assets apply swissport business principles towards customer service, operations integrity, safety and code of conduct
  • Ensure all required operational reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner
  • Plan annual airport specific aviation fuelling operations budgets
  • Plan and manage the maintenance of all equipment associated with the swissport fuelling operation. 
  • Support CWL airport authority in the identification of fuelling related capital expenditure items
  • Support CWL airport authority and swissport in forecasting annual fuel throughput volume
  • Monitor the quality of all fuel receipts entering the CWL fuelling facility
  • Ensure that crisis management planning for Swissport personnel, assets and service provider/dealer operated sites is in place and practiced and recorded at regular intervals
  • Ensure business continuity planning is in place
Key performance indicators

  • Development opportunities metrics
  • Customer satisfaction
  • Quality targets as set by swissport and/or as agreed with customers
  • Other KPIs as defined by the business unit
  • Must have Refuelling experience
  • Understanding of Operating Fuel Depot
Qualifications and Competencies  
  • Work experience gained in leading an aviation refuelling operation is essential
  • Excellent knowledge of fuelling operations in both into-plane and storage applications
  • Good business and financial acumen
  • Ability to work under pressure, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
  • Experience of managing a joint venture aviation refuelling operation is desirable
  • Experience of developing and implementing a QHSE culture and processes within an operations environment is essential
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in english is essential
  • Strong analytical and planning skills
  • Strong project management skills are essential
  • Team focused management style that fits into a challenging, entrepreneurial environment
  • Good financial understanding of accounts is essential
  • Legal knowledge (understanding contracts, competition law, employment law) is essential
  • Thorough knowledge and work experience with microsoft office programs including o365, word, excel, outlook and powerpoint
  • Willingness to travel throughout the uk, ireland and overseas when required and be flexible with working times (defined by customer requests, peaks will be encountered)
  • Valid Class C/E driver's license
