Morson has an exciting 12 months initial contract based in Bristol for a Quality Assurance Engineer for a Major Aerospace Company

Position Description.

    • Our Client is looking to appoint a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to take responsibility for the provision of QA support to the Clients functions and programmes
    • Our Clients Quality Management System (QMS) is accredited to ISO9001:2008, AS9100:C and AS9110:B. The company plans to extend these accreditations to new sites and seek additional ones in support of its diverse business needs. The QA Engineer will essentially be responsible for maintaining the current accreditation and transitioning to new ones as the company grows.
  • The QA Engineer will be a member of the Clients QA team reporting to the QA Manager. The team has staff dedicated to major programmes and the QA Engineer will be tasked with supporting smaller sites / programmes where full time QA staff are not considered appropriate. Therefore, the incumbent will be required to visit all Clients sites on a regular basis in his / her capacity as the QA Focal for the Clients Functions and certain programmes.

  • To keep pace with the growth of the company, the Client has recently invested in new tools for the maintenance of its QMS. These tools are still in their infancy in as far as their use within the Client is concerned and the QA Engineer will therefore be responsible for sustaining the gains made and developing the tools and processes to support the continuing growth of the Client.

Specific duties include:

  • Support of the Client Quality Management System and its related processes
  • Develop, maintain and execute an Internal Quality Audit Schedule for the Functions and certain programmes
  • Support the QA Manager in the preparation for external quality audits and formulation of any resulting action plans.
  • Lead internal audits for Functions and certain programmes and agree any resulting corrective action plans and their effective completion.
  • Support the internal audit of large programmes as required
  • Work with the QA Manager to drive continuous improvement from a quality perspective. This will include the lead in Process Management activities designed to target specific processes
  • Review potential suppliers for inclusion on the Clients list of approved suppliers.
  • Work with functions and smaller programmes to ensure that their plans align with the Clients QMS
  • If not already experienced, undertake training in SharePoint 2010 to manage the configuration management of documentation produced by the various programmes
  • If not already experienced, undertake training in iGrafx to assume the responsibility for the preparation, review, publishing and configuration management of the Client produced processes and work instructions
  • Undertake training in the clients tools for managing internal audits and tracking corrective actions.
  • Provide training, coaching and mentoring on the Quality Management System and the tools used
  • Provide input on quality strategies, goals, objectives and related metrics to ensure alignment with Company vision/strategy.
  • Provide regular reports on agreed metrics / key performance indicators as they relate to programme performance, contract requirements and customer expectation
  • Support company efforts to ensure that deliverables comply with customer, company, quality, industry and regulatory requirements.
