** Quality Assurance Director Required **

Oaklands Global are currently looking to recruit a Quality Assurance Director for our reputable client based in the Middle East. This is a superb opportunity, giving the right candidate the opportunity to make a significant impact on safety issues within the business.

 

** This role is based in the Middle East **

 

As the Quality Assurance Director, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Develops Quality strategies by identifying and researching quality issues and Airworthiness Authority Regulatory requirements
  • Establishes a comprehensive Quality audit system/program to ensure adherence to all regulatory, safety, training and other company standards
  • Monitors and audits in accordance with the Airworthiness Authority and all aviation requirements to fulfil the corporate management’s commitment to quality
  • Monitors the performance of all business units except HR and Finance
  • Responsible for conducting investigations on incidents or repeated defects as necessary and/or as instructed by the GM/Chairman.
  • Ensures that all duties and responsibilities as detailed in the approved Quality Manual and Maintenance Organisation Exposition, Operation and training manuals are carried out.
  • Monitors the corrective/preventive action system and verification of effectiveness. 
  • Ensure that the Accountable Manager is informed of any discrepancies arising within the Quality systems
  • Maintain all Company Approvals in accordance with the respective regulations.
  • Establishes audit procedure checklists, approves and audits vendors and suppliers as required. 
  • Provides professional quality services to Operations, Maintenance and Engineering, including reviewing and evaluating proposed modifications, corrective action and revisions to the approved maintenance program and coordinate its approval with GCAA.
  • Evaluates used and new products, materials and services through the planned audit program.
  • Oversees and liaises with the UAE GCAA on matters relating to certifications, concessions, exemptions, reportable occurrences and any subject related to rules and regulations.
  • Oversees and maintains and updates the business quality manuals.
  • Authorizes personnel performing maintenance on aircraft in accordance with ADA procedures and keep license and training records.
  • Monitors all required Trainings, exams and certifications are attained.
  • Reviews Engineering Authorizations and directing / approving work to be accomplished on the company’s aircraft.
  • Monitors the compliance of GCAA, FAA, EASA AD’s and any other relevant mandatory requirements.
  • Administers Maintenance Occurrence reports; (Note: Air Safety Reports are administered by Safety section).
  • Issues and revokes ADA maintenance and engineering approvals, as appropriate.
  • Reviews, issues, amends, communicates, and implements the Quality policies.
  • Provides support to Safety business unit. 
  • Responsible for recruiting, selecting, orienting, distributing work, training, coaching, counselling, and disciplining staff; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing staff job accomplishments and resolving problems for direct employees. 
  • Responsible to the Accountable Manager for the day-to-day administration, control and efficient operation of the Quality & Safety department.
  • Ensures effective control of all technical publications in use, by the control and monitoring of the library system.
  • Maintain an up to date manuals of the businesses internal processes and procedures. 
  • Company approval of sub-contractors as required.
  • Convenes and acts as secretary of the companies Quality Review Board.
  • Develops reviews and manages the quality Departmental budget. 
  • Develops and maintains appropriate relationships with external and internal bodies to facilitate the successful accomplishment of business objectives. (Example: the Engineering & Maintenance Team, Safety Team, GCAA, etc)
  • Provides advice to the Chairman and the Board as required. 
  • Performs other tasks as requested by the CEO.
  • Adheres to the company policies and procedures. 

 

To be considered for the role of Strategy Specialist you must:

 

  • Lead Auditor Certification
  • 10 Years Aeronautical experience Desirable
  • City & Guilds Aeronautical Engineering
  • MBA or other management qualification 
  • Bachelor’s degree in in Aeronautical or Aircraft Engineering
  • Lead Auditor aeronautical Essential

 

Desirable:

 

  • 10 years of Aviation Maintenance experience required, 5 years prior management experience required;
  • 5 years’ experience as QA manager.
  • Knowledge of GCAA, EASA, FAA general rules and regulations.
  • Good knowledge in Planning, engineering, engine management, Technical records Technical library Stores and Materials functions.
  • Good knowledge of maintenance organizations
  • Good knowledge in Airline Safety

Good knowledge of QA in operations.

Essential:

  • Aviation industry experience. 
  • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and understanding of standard practices and procedures within a Part 135 operation and a Part 145 repair stations.
