Morson are currently looking for two Planners to come in for a 3 month initial contract for a large Aerospace Company based in Yeovil, Somerset.

Details of roles:

Looking for one candidate for:

A new Engineering Planning Initiative will provide an integrated planning solution through the use of Engineering technical area planning (in the UK and Italy) and the subsequent programme integration at the Engineering level and linking to other areas of the business. The initiative will improve adherence to standard times for product design and development, the scheduling of resources at skill level and control through KPI metrics.

A Technical Area Planner is sought to focus on UK Electrical and Avionic Technical Areas:

  • Support the Electrical & Avionics Technical Areas in the planning of tasks (schedule and cost), ensuring application of the planning methodology defined by Engineering Planning & Control Department (e.g. Process, Tools, Skill, Standard metrics, Quality, Interdependency).
  • Support Avionics Technical Area during monthly schedule progress update, forecast and baseline change control.
  • Participate to the Technical Area budgeting process, supporting department in the definition of their activities/costs
  • Prepare and analyse all the necessary data in order to support progress review : reporting, performance indicators trend, capacity and critical path analysis, variance analysis (cost and schedule, corrective action plan).

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • MS Project 2016 (client/server) planner expert/proficient (essential).
  • SAP Project Planning and Dassian interface tool experience (desirable).
  • Budget Change Request/project configuration control techniques (desirable).
  • Knowledge in the planning of technical programmes and deriving EVMS/KPI metrics (desirable).
  • Experience and knowledge of planning practices, budget distribution, cost collection systems in a technical environment.
  • Good relationship, communicating and negotiating capability, familiar with problem solving and team working.

  • Support CPE departments in defining input/output activities and critical dependencies in order to define horizontal and vertical integration of schedule and performing critical path analysis.
  • Support CPE in managing scope change, timely flow down to relevant Tech Area and budget process.
  • Prepare and analyse all the necessary data in order to support progress review, reporting, performance indicators trend, critical path analysis, variance analysis (cost and schedule, corrective action plan).
  • ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
