Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Manager to join Britten-Norman Aircraft Ltd, producer of one of the most successful civil aircraft ever manufactured in the UK.

This role is based at our Bembridge premises.

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a highly specialised team in providing new, repaired and overhauled aircraft components, within agreed timeframes, budgets and quality standard. The post is a Nominated Post under the BNA EASA Part 21G Approval, and the holder of the role will need to be suitably qualified and / or experienced to the satisfaction of the CAA. Key responsibilities include the creation and management of comprehensive schedules of component production and repair and inspection, and delivering component manufacture and repairs to agreed timetables and to the satisfaction of the Company Directors.

Primary tasks
On a day to day basis the Production Manager's primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Providing leadership, direction and control in multiple Company projects to achieve time, cost and quality criteria.
  • Providing Internal and external stakeholder reporting including the production of project plans, risk registers and change management.
  • Ensuring project contractual, commercial regulatory and financial requirements are met. This includes ensuring that the project scope does not change except through contractual amendment and price review.
  • Ensuring project milestones are complete (including customer sign off and invoicing). Establishing and maintaining key supplier interface and relationships.

Key skills and attributes:

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills with ability to retain composure and flexibility under pressure
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook
  • Ability to multi-task and to determine and manage priorities to meet multiple deadlines
  • Effective in a team and as an individual. Precise, accurate and meticulousness. Reliable, pro-active and self-confident.

Minimum qualifications requirements:

5 GCSE passes at Grade C or above, including Maths and English

Sufficient skills and experience to be a Nominated Post holder under the BNA EASA Part 21G & Part 145 Approval

Required experience:

  • Experience of component production and or component repair / overhaul - aircraft equivalent industry experience may be acceptable.
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in managing teams of multi-disciplined personnel associated with component manufacture
