The Part-66 Category B1.1 Licence course provides the relevant knowledge and experience required for engineers to be able to sign the certificate of release to service for an aircraft within the category B1.1 licence authority. The B1 Licence is aimed at those operating or maintaining complex gas turbine aircraft.

Licence Content and Structure

The Part-66 Category B1.1 Licence training programme is designed with modules running on a cyclical basis each lasting between 4 and 15 working days. Some courses require self-study prior to attending the course and guidance notes about that will be provided upon completing the course booking process.

Modules are delivered separately so that you can develop your qualification over a period of time. From starting the first module, candidates have 10 years to complete the licence.


It is important to have a good understanding of both spoken and written English for the course.

PROCAT Aviation Academy are not a stand-alone examination centre so you must attend the course in order to sit an exam.

Modules take between 4 – 15 days to complete, and we train weekdays from 9am – 5pm.
