TAA are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our huge client on a 3- 6 month contract and manage a growing production and maintenance team servicing the commercial aviation sector.

Good hourly rate on offer and dependent on location would consider accommodation assistance.


The successful candidate must have a proven track record in managing a large manufacturing process preferably within a similar environment.

Responsibilities. Day to day management of:

  • EASA Part 21 manufacture of seat covers, and curtains.
  • Fabric lamination operation
  • Dry cleaning of aircraft soft furnishings
  • Presently a small EASA Part 145 maintenance facility
  • Design and development

Other roles

  • Control of staff costs
  • Accident and incident investigation
  • Disciplinary investigation
  • Produce weekly reports on productivity / staff costs
  • Constant review of procedures
  • Customer liaison
  • Form 4 holder

This role is an exciting new position in a major provider to the commercial aviation industry. The company has planned strategic growth in its area of expertise and new ventures, in which this role will have an important part to play in the introduction and planning.

 

Essential skills:

  • An established background in managing a large scale manufacturing / production operation.
  • Ability to produce written reports to Director level.
  • Proven experience of managing a large multi skilled workforce.
  • IT literate in word, Excel, powerpoint

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of aviation regulatory bodies and requirements, eg.EASA, CAA, DFT
  • Working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems
  • Lean manufacturing understanding.

 

If selected for interview you will be required to produce a 15 min presentation on a subject to be advised.
