Our Line Maintenance Station at London Gatwick Airport is undergoing some positive changes to future proof our delivery and help maintain our position in the market place as a leading MRO.
We are changing our structure, resulting in the need for a Nightshift Manager who will ensure our delivery of Line Maintenance products and services to our customers, lead and manage the Station and personnel assuring profitability.
To comply with and enforce as necessary, the Company Health & Safety policies and practices (Safety Management System) and UK Statutory requirements to ensure a safe working environment at all times;
To ensure that all maintenance (Aircraft, equipment, tooling etc) is carried out strictly in accordance with the Company, Customer and Regulatory Requirements and that 'best practice' is applied at all times with a target of no findings/discrepancies resulting from in-house and/or external customer and/or airworthiness authority audits;
To meet the financial targets provided in line with the budget for the area under their control through careful cost management (especially overtime, sickness and contractor management);
To ensure that adequate human resources and facilities are available to accomplish the required maintenance. To lead and direct the resources under their control to ensure they comply with Company and Customer Procedures and achieve the required standards;
To efficiently plan and manage the resources under their control to perform scheduled maintenance, unscheduled maintenance and defect rectification in a timely manner to the defined EASA/JAR 145 requirements and in accordance with quality standards required by Company and Customer procedures;
To achieve the highest possible efficiency from their resources through detailed planning, resource scheduling and innovation;
In conjunction with their Shift Leaders to plan and control annual leave and to plan the training of staff to meet operational needs at lowest possible cost (within agreed budget);
Ensure the local area, facilities, equipment and presentation of staff whilst on duty meets the required Company standard in order to protect and enhance the Company Brand image and its reputation;
Conduct staff briefings at regular intervals on Company matters, performance, Health & Safety, Environmental, Regulatory and any other issues as may be appropriate;
Manage and develop the performance of your teams, ensuring suitable coaching, training, development (including succession planning) and performance management is carried out;
Experience working in an Aviation MRO environment
High degree of customer focus, internal and external

Able to lead and manage a team of people
Ability to provide effective Management & Leadership
Flexibility to meet deadlines and customer expectation
Demonstrate working knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
Fluent in English (written and oral)
Knowledge/understanding of LEAN philosophy and CI/5S
Proficient in the use of IT (specifically MS Office, AMOS, SAP)
