Would you like to join a new and exciting function supporting the Operations teams across Land (UK)? We currently have a vacancy for a Manufacturing Capability Lead which can be based from Telford, Glascoed, Radway Green or Washington.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious, growing team in an exciting business. The successful applicant will find themselves at the centre of the Operations teams across Land (UK) providing expertise to drive measureable benefits.

As a Manufacturing Capability Lead you will be responsible for supporting the analysis and development of current production processes across the Integrated Delivery Teams. Land (UK) benefits from a diverse portfolio of manufacturing processes and has ambitions to become a world class manufacturer. In support of this objective a new function is being established in order to support the operations community. The operations function will support the Integrated Delivery Teams both tactically and strategically through an Operational Excellence programme aimed at improving culture, continuous improvement, enterprise alignment and honouring our customer commitments.

Your main responsibilities as a Manufacturing Capability Lead will involve:
Leading the development and deployment of a process capability study across all manufacturing sites and ranges. Ascertaining the current state and then determining a cost effective future state position together with a gap analysis and programme of improvement activity
Supporting a collaborative and effective programme of improvement associated with overall equipment efficiency. Providing support and guidance in order to drive a step change in performance followed by a steady improvement gradient as the business 'seeks perfection'.
Supporting the strategy and manufacturing systems team with the introduction of new approaches to manufacture. Identifying ageing / incapable processes (see above) that could / should be made redundant via the completion of feasibility studies and successful submissions to the investment board, e.g. casting - additive layer
Designing and supporting the achievement of performance metrics that hold both IDTs and functions to account for the timely and effective prosecution of manufacturing improvement programmers in support of Land (UK)s overall business performance

Your skills and qualifications as a Manufacturing Capability Lead:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a Technical Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
In depth experience of Six Sigma (Black Belt level or equivalent) and SPC tools and techniques
Demonstrated manufacturing project management experience including implementation of complex and technically challenging projects
Stakeholder management skills and experience in working within a virtual team across multiple sites
Excellent MS office skills and use of SAP and Minitab
Knowledge of Land UK product and processes (desirable)

What we're looking for in you:
You will have strong communication skills and the ability to work within a challenging environment working to tight deadlines.
A sound knowledge of manufacturing and production techniques with an ability to develop improvement plans and drive them through to completion
