We seek a Manager, Repair Operations with extensive experience of leading and managing a large electronics or avionics manufacturing or repair facility to oversee the operational performance of our Avionics Repair Workshop in Dubai, UAE.

The role holder will lead a team of 100+ technical professionals of an avionics Repair shop and will be responsible for the productivity of the Repair shop whilst ensuring that all Repair Shop activities are in compliance with relevant aviation regulations, as well as internal company quality standards.

The role holder will also liaise with our key airline customers on schedules of repair activities and resolution of repair issues.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage repair shop operations to ensure optimum productivity for all repair activities.
  • Set and monitor standards of performance; improve productivity levels through continual improvement of processes through trend reporting analysis and metrics management and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Manage the resolution of technical and customer concerns by fostering close relationships and open communication with other departments such as Quality Assurance, Engineering, Test, Production, and Order Administration. Support regional marketing and sales initiatives.
  • Evaluate quality performance of repaired units and recommend enhancements to repair and returns process to minimize cost and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Establish, Control and minimize resource overtime, premium freight and other repair expenses.
  • Develop inventory stocking levels of new and repaired units based on historical repair demands.
  • Manage all Repair Shop activities in accordance with EASA/CAA/FAA/UAE GCAA regulations and participate in customer and EASA/CAA/FAA/UAE GCAA audits as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all Quality Inspection Standards and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Develop repair strategies for new product introductions, and end of life products, to ensure customer agreements for on-going maintenance support are met.
  • Manage and develop the team ensuring that they are all trained in the relevant technical procedures as required for optimum job performance.

Education, Experience and Skills Requirements:

  • Degree holder in Electronics Engineering or relevant degree and 10+ years of experience in an Avionics Repair Shop environment.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in the areas of technical service, repair and management.
  • Experience in a fast-paced and highly competitive technical repair or service environment of which at least 5 years are in a management capacity.
  • Proven management experience of leading and motivating large teams of diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong understanding of Aviation Regulatory Agency regulations (EASA/CAA/FAA/UAE GCAA).
  • Familiarity with modern manufacturing principals and the ability to work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires the evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
  • Highly focused and results-oriented; able to identify goals and priorities and resolve issues in initial stages. Possess well-developed communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills.
