Maintenance Planning Manager - Commercial Aircraft Maintenance - Sussex


Full time 37.5 hours per week


Reporting to the Head of Technical Operations, working closely with the Operations and Planning Managers, this position will lead both the long-term and short-term Maintenance Planning teams.
A leadership role, requiring recent experience of long haul, line & base maintenance of Airline Fleet, or similar technological aircraft.
You?ll be a clear and effective communicator, with the ability to influence with impact, at all levels.
You?ll be educated to degree standard or higher, and have a strong proven background in delivering at a senior level, in a production or planning based environment.
You will be responsible for planning and optimising scheduled aircraft maintenance around the fleet network in accordance with the Approved Maintenance Programme and operational requirements within EASA regulations, Financial management & control, defining processes and compliance procedures as well as leading from the front, by example and managing and multi faceted team.


Key tasks.
? To manage the Planning teams to deliver planned maintenance that enables optimal aircraft availability and On Time Performance for the airline.
Responsible for the accurate and timely planning output of the UK Line, Base and Strategic Planning teams within Engineering.
? Ensuring Line Maintenance Planning enables full aircraft availability to support the operational flying programme.
? Ensuring maintenance planned for the company hangars is coordinated through a Load Capacity process that optimises the available labour, hangar capacity and revenue opportunities.
? Ensuring the on time accomplishment of all major and minor modification programmes originating from regulatory requirements, OEMs and the airline.
? Ensuring the optimal allocation of tasks between in-house (UK/Overseas) and outsourced maintenance to achieve the maintenance programme at the minimal cost.
? Working with the Outsourced Base Maintenance team ensure the achievement of the Engineering heavy maintenance plan and deliver maximum benefit to the business consistent with quality, safety, reliability, technical standards, delivery and cost.
? Ensure internal and external metrics are reported and the data is analysed to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
? Ensuring that all departmental interfaces and communications are managed to SLAs. Develop resource plans to ensure all planned maintenance is delivered in line with the maintenance programme.
? Responsible for maintaining the working relationship between the planning department and all third party planning teams.
? To allocate appropriately skilled resource to each department location in order to ensure that all Aircraft Maintenance is delivered in line with quality, cost and technical standards
? Ensure sustainability issues are considered and factored into decisions
