Role: Logistics Administrator

Location: West Sussex

Salary: £15,000- £17,000

Rural area must have access to own transport


Our client is a global provider of aircraft component services. They now require Logistic Administrators on a permanent basis.


To work as part of the Logistics team to ensure that all shipments are handled in accordance with company procedures and meet all operational requirements. Provide a high quality of service to all customers and departments in all aspects of the Logistics function.


  • Under the guidance of the Logistics Executive, process shipments to and from global customers and suppliers
  • Recognise and react to the urgency of customer orders including AOG, IOR, and routine shipments ensuring all turnaround times are met
  • Recognise and organise hazardous and heavyweight shipments in accordance with shipping constraints
  • Assist with the negotiation of the most cost effective shipment methods
  • Obtain relevant shipment details to complete paperwork requirements including AWB & Export declaration and ensure accurate completion as per customers and country specific requirements
  • Adhere to all import and export procedures and controls
  • Process data and update IT systems with all required information
  • Efficiently and professionally communicate with customers and suppliers
  • Answer and make telephone calls politely and professionally
  • Liaise and coordinate with internal departments as required
  • Assist the Logistics Department with all tasks as requested
  • Any other duties as required


  • Background in Administration with a minimum of 18 months experience is essential
  • Preferably previous working experience in a Logistics/shipping environment
  • Ability to recognise and respond to problems
  • Numerate, accurate with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, able to use own initiative and succeed in a busy environment
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, verbal and written
  • Strong organisation, time management and administration skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage workloads
  • Professional and courteous telephone manner
  • Flexible and adaptable to work a 37.5 hour week Mon – Fri between 07.00 - 19.00
  • Excellent computer literacy, highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook with some experience of Quantum an advantage
