You will be responsible for improving overall aircraft performance and continued airworthiness by providing a front line review of fleet operational performance and making in depth technical recommendation on current and emergent aircraft/fleet issues.
You will be responsible to deliver aircraft maintenance activities to directly support operations. You will plan activities in an effective manner, review work procedures and standards and propose improvements to procedures to ensure effectiveness. As well as being responsible for the final release of work accomplished by mechanics, you will also ensure tasks are performed to meet company standards and targets such as dispatch reliability and level of acceptable deferred defects.
You will be expected to improve aircraft availability by providing continuous monitoring of aircraft fleet status and identification of fleet reliability and operational performance issues to formulate a plan for rectification. You will also be responsible for managing individual AOG events at the request of the Fleet Controller in support of the MOCC Duty Manager and ensure that all maintenance on Qatar Airways aircraft is carried out to the highest possible safety and maintenance standards.
To be successful in this role, you will hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferably in Aeronautical/ Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering. Holder of QCAA / ICAO Type II / EASA aircraft maintenance license in B1 or B2 categories with certifying experience as an Licensed Aircraft Engineer holding a minimum of one or more Qatar Airways aircraft type authorisations. (Preference will be given to engineers holding multiple Qatar Airways aircraft type authorisations.)
You will have minimum of 7 years of job-related experience. You will also have appropriate Qatar Airways aircraft type ratings for both the aircraft and the engines. You are required to have experience in an international airline within a Maintenance Operations and/or Line Maintenance area with a solid understanding of aircraft maintenance organization.
Computer literacy, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong command of the English language are highly essential attributes for this role. The selected candidate will have excellent knowledge of aircraft maintenance fundamentals and sound knowledge of air legislation. You must also be able to make decisions under pressure.
