LICENSED AIRCRAFT ENGINEER

We are currently looking for a Licensed Aircraft Engineer. The role will be full time located at London Heathrow Airport at our Terminal 2 base.  Air Canada offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Join Air Canada’s innovative and diverse workforce and watch your career take flight!

Key duties include:

  • Execute the daily 24 hour production plan as instructed by Chief Station Engineer and/or Lead Licensed Aircraft Engineer
  • Perform routine PDC, SC, Trip Checks and 100hr Checks
  • Plan, research, troubleshoot and clear DEV’s and OMI’s in cooperation with LLAE and/or as instructed by Chief Station Engineer
  • Ensure airworthiness and safety policies, processes and standards are adhered to
  • Resolve material, tooling and engineering issues which may affect the daily production plan
  • On rare occasions from time to time be prepared to act as CSE/LLAE and in those instances carry company mobile phone throughout the shift
  • If required perform planning call during late/night shift, tweak the production plan for the following day accordingly
  • During late/nightshift, prepare work packs for the following day
  • During late/nightshift, support dayshift by researching inbound OMI’s, troubleshooting and sourcing parts required for the following day
  • Daily inspection of personal toolbox incl. full inventory check and report any missing tools to the Chief Station Engineer
  • Assign and direct the work of the team of mechanics on duty
  • Provide practical on-site training and coaching to mechanics
  • Ensure work safety standards S.A.F.E are adhered to
  • Ensure aircraft and related maintenance records are completed according to the standards set out in the ACM control manual
  • Exercise "ownership" of area of responsibility
  • Ensure in-depth information is provided at regular intervals to Chief Station Engineer and LLAE during any delay or AOG situation
  • Ensure adequate and accurate aircraft status information is provided (at all times) to Chief Station Engineer, local STOC and the following shift
  • Ensure a safe and tidy workplace
  • Follow up Tooling & Equipment on a daily basis as directed by Chief Station Engineer
  • Ensure all LM mobile phones are re-charged at the end of the shift

 

Competencies/Qualifications

  • Hold a Transport Canada AME License or EASA Part-66 B1/B2 license with B767 (PW4000/CF6) & A330 (RR Trent) approvals

B777 (GE90), A320 (CFM56) approvals would be an advantage

  • Have experience in line maintenance
  • Hold a valid UK/EU driving license
  • Have the ability to show initiative and to make independent decisions, especially in high pressured situations
  • Demonstrate a high level of flexibility and be self motivated
  • Be focused on safety and quality
  • Demonstrate a high level of computer literacy including a sound working knowledge of MS Office applications such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Be prepared and agree to work shifts, which may include nights, weekends and Bank Holidays
  • Have a professional approach with a drive to succeed
  • Have the right to work in the United Kingdom without restriction
