Morson International are currently recruiting for a Junior Planner for a leading aerospace client located in Somerset.

Job Purpose

Provide operative support to Control Account Managers (CAM) for developing, monitoring, and analysing Control Account plans. Ensure integrity and quality of the schedules and controlled and timely implementation of baseline changes.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Support the development of Scope statements for Control Accounts
  • In consultation with the CAM, identify the specific activities that need to be performed to produce the various programme deliverables and establish duration, resource requirements and sequencing.
  • Facilitate critical path analysis at Control Account level including development of work-around plans to minimise programme schedule impacts.
  • Ensure schedule quality by monitoring specific schedule outputs to determine whether they comply with prescribed quality standards, and identifying ways to eliminate causes of unsatisfactory performance.
  • Review cost and schedule performance of Control Accounts, undertaking a monthly analysis of planned and actual data using Earned Value Management.
  • Provide support in establishing root causes for Variance Analysis.
  • Support the Estimate at Completion (EAC) process.
  • Provide Ad Hoc reports from SAP to support CAMs
  • Control changes to Scope, Schedule and Cost following baseline control procedures.
  • Ensure that data integrity is maintained across all work tasks.
  • Maintain compliance with Programme Management policies, processes and procedures.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Experience in the planning and scheduling of complex tasks within an aerospace or similar industrial environment.
  • Ability to maintain a clear focus on goals and priorities.
  • Proficiency in working with computers, including common Microsoft packages (e.g. Word and Excel).
  • Proficiency in using SAP PS is desirable.
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ideally suited to an engineering graduate looking to gain experience within this sector.
