Are you a knowledgeable Import/Export Controller with experience in the international shipment of aircraft engines?

Reporting to the Operations Manager of International Transport, your role will be to support the international transportation of company owned and managed fleet aircraft engines and equipment. You will be liaising with global logistics and freight companies to coordinate ground and air transportation, ensuring all import and export documentation requirements for engine and equipment movements are met. You will also be responsible for the daily care of the company Bonded Warehouse and all associated reporting to customs control. Other duties will include:

  • Control of the import, export and clearance of aero engines, stands and parts into and out of the company's facilities.

  • Control of all imports into the company's customs warehouse and all associated documentation

  • Minimising duty and VAT liabilities where feasible

  • Production and management of shipping and logistics purchase orders and commercial invoices

  • Ensuring HMRC regulatory compliance

  • Notifying the Line Manager of any delays to limit cost

  • Control and validation of final shipping and freight invoices to ensure they match original purchase orders

  • Performing audits of the Bonded Warehouse, to ensure material in bond correlates to customs data.

To be considered for this role you will need:

  • Experience dealing with the transportation of aircraft engines

  • Experience as a warehouse keeper as per HMRC requirements

  • Experience in international import and export compliance

  • Are familiar with Incoterms

  • Experience in the international shipment of hazardous materials/dangerous goods and related document compliance

  • Previous Tax and VAT requirements

  • Understanding of International customs requirements

  • Is highly organised and conscientious, with high attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

  • Flexibility and willingness to take on a variety of tasks
