CAE Parc are accepting applications for the role of Head of Training for our client, a Pilot Training Organization based in Malaysia.

 

Job Summary:

This position will execute strategic training leadership in Asia, respect to training standards, best practices and application of training systems for the training of various aviation professionals.   The position holder will advise the Asia business leader, operations leader and staff, sales leader and staff, business development staff and the various regulatory post holders for Approved Training Organizations across Asia in terms of strategic training initiatives and topics. The scope of the work includes training of pilots, cabin crew, aircraft maintenance technicians and flight dispatchers - from ab-initio training to the training of advanced professionals.   

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Embrace the vision developed by the organization, as well as the training vision and policies developed by the Training Strategy organization.
    • Translate these visions into a clear, customer-centric vision and actions for the business and training operations in Asia.
    • In return, feed the local and regional specificities into the global visions and Training Strategy organization.
  • Make recommendations to the regional leaders and centre managers for strategic optimization of training resources in order to maximize training effectiveness, efficiency and quality.
  • Build and maintain solid relationships with the regulatory post holders (such as Accountable Managers, Heads of Training and Quality Assurance managers) of the JV Approved Training Organizations in Asia.
  • Partner with the regional sales, marketing and business development teams in order to assist with potential customers and clients’ needs on training matters.
  • Provide training leadership for the establishment of new training ventures or locations.
  • Identify, share and promote "Best Practices" on training matters in the region.
  • In liaison with the Training Strategy organization make strategic recommendations to the regional business and operational leaders with respect to new training concepts, training methods, training tools developed by our aviation industry.
  • As applicable, promote a high level of training standardization within the region, in line with the organization’s global training standards.
  • Promote a culture of regulatory compliance for all training across the region.
  • Make annual strategic recommendations to the regional business and operational leaders for CAPEX training equipment, updates and expenditures.
  • Constructively interact with the Regulatory Affairs staff.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must hold an Air Transport Pilot License from an ICAO member State
  • Highly skilled in learning and training of young adults and experienced professionals
  • Must be familiar with the typical steps of training for aviation professionals.
  • Must be familiar with both traditional and modern training concepts  
  • Culturally astute, and respectful of people or various backgrounds across Asia.
  • Must be able to develop credibility, trust and effective co-operation with training leaders of the region.
  • Must think strategically, with a business mind.
  • Must have strong problem solving capacity, act boundary less across CAE and JVs.
  • Must have the professional decorum, grooming and proper attitude to meet customers, and work with other key stakeholders of the industry in the region.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • Must be able to learn quickly various Information Technology environments.
  • At least 5 years of Captaincy experience for an airline operation, or equivalent;
  • At least 5 years of experience in the aviation training industry;
  • At least 3 years living in Asia;
  • Must be able to analyse complex training needs and situations for training organizations across different nations, training centres and possibly flight schools in the region.  
  • Must be able to elaborate and propose creative training solutions to accommodate the organizations’ s needs and our customers’ needs.  
  • Must be able to leverage international best practices, principles and regulatory documents.
  • Experience as a manager in a Flight Training Organization and/or a Type-Rating Training Organization
  • Preferred:
    • Training captain experience.
  • Experience with Regulatory Authorities.
