Manages the structures department within the EASA Part 21J, CAA A8.21 and MAA DAOS design organisation. Responsible for a variety of tasks associated with the preparation, certification and approval of various aspects of mechanical/structures related design and certification data.
/ The Role:
Detailed mechanical design processes, including but not limited to:
Environmental testing requirements
Structural substantiation reports
Reviewing equipment approvals, e.g. TSO, ETSO
Weight and balance schedule amendment instructions
Air test/post flight evaluation requirements
/ The Person:
Minimum Required Experience:
5 years within an EASA Design Organisation Environment, specifically engaged in avionics/electrical design and certification
Previously qualified as a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) in the avionics/electrical discipline, with experience covering CS 23/25/27/29 platforms
Completed 2 years within a Design Office environment producing drawings and reports
At least five (5) GCSE’s (or equivalent), to include English, Maths, and a Science subject
Highly skilled in static strength hand calculations with past experience of producing and checking stress/substantiation analysis reports.
Software applications: – Finite Element Analysis software, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Recognised degree level course with an electrical/aerospace engineering bias (or)
Apprenticeship in an Engineering Environment, ideally with an avionics/electrical background supported by (BTEC National/ONC/HNC, etc.) in a Mechanical Engineering discipline
Experience within a UK MAA DAOS Organisation Environment
Autodesk AutoCAD (Electrical)
Hours: 08.00-17.30, Mon- Fri
Annual Leave: 5.6 weeks per year inclusive of Bank Holidays.
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
