Head of Operations -Permanent position – Europe – Competitive Salary

Vortice Aviation currently have a fantastic permanent opportunity for an experienced Head of Operations for a leading support services organisation who operate in the UK and overseas focusing on engineering excellence.

The role:

The Head of Operations will Participatesand champion the Safety Management System (SMS) and the quality assurance program.

Maintain a system to ensure the safe, efficient and timely accomplishment of the training function

The production of a flight crew training plan in liaison with the Crew Training Manager.

Develop and maintain a close and effective working relationship with the relevant National Authorities.

Able to accurately define the aircraft specification required for a specific role

Develop and maintain a comprehensive set of operations manuals in accordance with current regulations and Company specific requirements.

Ensure the completeness and accuracy of all processes and procedures identified with flight operations and their compliance with relevant national and EASA legislation.


Qualifications & Requirements


Excellent drafting ability and communication skills both oral and written in German and English

Knowledge of current EASA regulations - (EU) Nr. 965/2012

Knowledge of current LBA regulations

Knowledge of the AOC OM A to D

Knowledge of the Company Safety Management System and its application to Flight Operations

Five years of relevant aviation experience of which a minimum of two years are as a commercial pilot

Knowledge of budget construction and P&L

Knowledge of flight operations costs for tendering processes

Knowledge of Crew Resource Management

A good general knowledge of the Aviation industry with respect to commercial helicopter operations as per (EU) Nr.1178/2011.


10 years’ flying experience

5 years’ experience in a pilot management role

Hold a current and valid flying licence with instrument rating.
