They currently have an opportunity for a Ground Operations Manager to be part of the Senior Management Team ensuring the continued growth of the business. As Ground Operations Manager you will be required to ensure that your department provides a safe, reliable, high quality and cost effective service.
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
Oversight of Operations Control, Crew Control and Rostering to ensure that the Company operates within the parameters of its AOC and Operations Manual.
Liaising with the Flight Operations Nominated Person to ensure Ground Operations meets regulatory and Company requirements.
To oversee the production and maintenance of the Ground Operations Procedures and systems, to ensure a continuous self-audit programme in accordance with the Company Management System, and to help ensure an effective Company Compliance and oversight process.
To monitor and control all Ground Operations personnel training and records, identifying individual training needs.
The compilation and dissemination of operational performance indicators and delay statistics to all interested parties and provision of remedial action.
Ensuring that relevant problems highlighted by Voyage Reports or other indicators are investigated in a timely manner and the introduction of remedial action to prevent recurrence and improve Company performance.
Overall responsibility for the interpretation, efficient operation and recording of the Flight Time Limitations scheme and reporting any crew duty illegalities to the Flight Operations Director.
The efficient processing and control of all ground travel arrangements and hotel arrangements for flight and cabin crew and the incurred costs involved.
To liaise with, and monitor the performance of, all contracted Ground Handling Agencies, ATC providers and investigating any deficiencies in service delivery and on-time performance.
Liaison with Airport Authorities and associated Service Providers to ensure that the best possible facilities and services are afforded to the Company.
Promoting safety awareness and to actively encourage open reporting and feedback iaw the Company Safety Management System.
Overseeing the Company Security and Dangerous Goods policies and procedures.
Any other duties as directed by the Accountable Manager.
You will need:
Five years’ practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
Previous Nominated Person (Ground Operations) experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of the applicable EU safety regulations and any associated requirements and procedures.
Familiarity with Management Systems preferably in the area of aviation.
Exceptional communication skills at all levels.
The ability to work under pressure.
Proven influencing and problem solving skills.
Appropriate management experience, preferably in a comparable organisation along with 5 years of relevant work experience of which at least 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position.
The flexibility to work out of normal office hours and some weekends as dictated by the needs of the business.
