Shorterm Group have an exciting opportunity with a leading aerospace company in the Gloucestershire area who require a Flow Leader on a permanent basis.

Purpose of Role:
Ensuring the flow of work through the value stream with a 'hands-on' approach. Reporting to the flow or distribution manager, to deliver the plan with maximum utilisation of plant and resources and in line with Lean principles.

Key Accountabilities
*To ensure effective management of employee performance.
*To provide a management focal point for shift working where appropriate.
*To champion health & safety in the value stream.
*To ensure an effective cascade of policy deployment initiatives.
*To eliminate rejects and quality escapes through effective coordination of -lean-sigma tools application
*To champion lean sigma initiatives including value stream mapping, kaizen events, 5s activity etc.
*Effective control of WIP levels, rotable piece parts and SPT reduction.
*Reduction in operating costs and the enhancement of standardised best practice.
*Effective management of the value stream skills matrix through rigorous adherence to PDR schedules.
* Effective management of the value stream resource pool including absence, holidays, overtime etc.
*Adherence to and delivery of the value stream programmed activity.
*Champion adherence to the Airworthiness regulations and ensure compliance via robust and accurate works procedures.
*Optimise labour to meet demand whilst utilising cost efficient shift patterns.

Key Skills & Competencies:
*A working knowledge of lean principles & tools/techniques and how to deploy these effectively to leverage continuous improvement within a defined value stream. (To six sigma Green belt level)
*Effective communication skills throughout all levels of the value stream structure.
*The ability to adopt an efficient 'hands-on' approach as appropriate.
*A comprehensive job knowledge associated to relevant methodologies or best practices & compliance requirements.
*Capable of interpretation of KPI's and of developing appropriate actions.
*A flexible approach with ability to adapt to different working environments.
*Effective people development, leadership, coaching and team development skills.
*High levels of 'change energy', demonstrated motivation towards change implementation.
*Strong and effective delegation skills.
*Ability to portray full endorsement of business goals and objectives.
*A keenly developed sense of right first time attitude towards quality.
