Time served or NVQ Level 3 Fitters required to operate as multi-skilled, flexible workers to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Candidates should have a wide knowledge of hand and machine tools used in the aircraft industry including:

  • Precussion riveting
  • Drill/Ream/Countersink in panels with Vanmar tools
  • Setting structures in build jigs
  • Deburring of structures
  • Fettling using approved setting tools
  • Treatment touch-up in localised areas on aluminium
  • Use of CNC pillar drills (DONAU)

The role involves but is not limited to the following:

  • Ensure parts are produced on a 'right first time' basis
  • Ensure that any calibrated equipment used is within date
  • Responsible for the timely clearance of work phases using the SAP system
  • Responsible for highlighting any non-conformance to the Process Team Leader
  • Adhering to the requirements of the company's Quality Procedures
  • Accountable for Health & Safety requirements under Section 7 of the HASAWA 1974
  • To hold first party inspection approval (M02 status is subject to obtaining A stamp approval)
  • Responsible for general housekeeping within the area

Candidates must have a recognised indentured apprenticeship and ideally have previous manufacturing experience in an aircraft production environment with the ability to work to standard operating procedures. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and techniques to support continuous improvement initiatives are required and candidates must be able to work in small teams with Process Team Leaders.

Copies of certificates are required.

Positions are avaialble on days - 7am - 16.15 Monday - Thursday and also Double Days which involves rotating each week between earlies 6am - 1pm and lates 1pm - 8pm.
