Duration: 6 months
The Thesis will develop the concept of a new bulk cargo door for a single aisle aircraft.
Tasks & accountabilities
The final year thesis is all about the development of a novel manufacturing process chain for large CFRP parts. The new process shall use existing and qualified materials. A curved and stiffened panel shall be used as development object. The Thesis will apply a systematic development approach. It will analyse the status quo and define relevant requirements for the product and the process (especially required tolerances).
On this basis the Thesis will develop alternative production processes to achieve the required production results. Core of the process development is the transfer of the process essentials into the required tooling’s and temperature/pressure curves.
* Enrolled student (m/f) within Mechanical Engineering, Engineering/Avionics or similar field of study
* Good Know-How within the program CATIA V5 R21 (part design, assembly design, generative shape design) and Finite
Element method (FEM)
* First Experience within Systematic development methods
* English: advanced
* German: advanced
You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
