Aviation labour Group Auckland is recruiting for a Facilities Cleaner/Handyman for one of our clients based in Auckland.

You will be ideally based in Auckland, be willing to work shift hours and are flexible and hard working.

Fundamental roles and responsibilities which are inherent to the position

Reporting to the Depot Facilities Manager and Facilities Technician.



Tasks will include:

  • Carry out cleaning of the Depot Floor area, Train Wash , Graffiti Wash Area and environs
  • Utilise Specialised Cleaning Equipment
  • Ensure Waste Streaming for Site and all Waste Bins are available and emptied on a regular basis
  • Ensure that Liquid Waste is disposed of in correct manner complying with site requirements
  • Liaise with Waste Service Provider for bin empty's
  • Empty Swimming Pool sumps , Pits are kept in Tidy manner
  • Ensure that all Consumables are kept at acceptable levels and are accounted for
  • Perform Small Delivery's and Pick Ups
  • Perform small handyman Tasks including Light Bulb Changes, Painting and small building works
  • Escort Visitors and subcontractors on site
  • Assist with the provision of technical and Logistical support for other CAF Staff
  • Undertake any other duties as and when required including After Hours work and Emergency Callout
  • Act as Fire Warden alternate
  • Undertake First Level of Maintenance of Depot Equipment if required: Cleaning, Visual Inspections, Grease and Oil levels monitoring and topping up if required, etc.
  • Actively participate in promoting health and safety in the workplace and encouraging others to do the same. Take part in health and safety initiatives, such as workplace inspections, hazard identification and others as required.

Education

Completion of NCEA, Current Forklift License

Work Experience

5-6 years' experience in an Industrial situation similar or relevant position. Experience in Plumbing, Painting and small building works would be beneficial.

Additional Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in an industrial Cleaning within rail, aviation or Industrial building services.
  • The ability to read Plumbing and storm water schematic drawings and have a good understanding of all systems functionality.
  • Experience in working with streamed Waste systems
  • The ability to interact and work in both a team and autonomous environment.
  • Communication skills both written and oral with the ability to complete all records of actions and operations accurately and to procedures
  • Ability to produce accurate Reports on Stock Levels, Cleaning Equipment Maintenance and Task Completion
  • Ability to maintain Specialised Cleaning Equipment
  • Experience in assisting Trades People in a similar environment.
  • Understands and cares for tools, equipment and PPE as appropriate
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety including bio-hazards, manual handling and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
  • Excellent Relationship & Communications ability especially with Sub Contractors, Equipment Suppliers ,Customers and Tenants
