RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Engineer T4B will participate in the L-3 PID Structural Life Assurance (SLA) group analyzing, reviewing, planning, and executing SLA agenda required to substantiate the Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analyses on a variety of aircraft and helicopter platforms. The candidate should be able to apply their advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts in the fields of fatigue, fracture mechanics, usage spectra, inspection requirements, and their applications to aircraft primary structure. The candidate should be able to work on complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative, ingenious, and cost affected. Must be able to work under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. The candidate should have a working knowledge of the other related engineering disciplines like design, stress, and loads & dynamics. Must have demonstrated the capability to lead others on a major program to a successful completion. The candidate should be able to developed and successfully implement the program's certification plans to meet the customer requirements, either FAA Parts 23, 25, & 29, JSSG 2006, or ADS-29. The candidate will be required to substantiate their work through formal documentation and seek minimum guidance from their manager.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Must have experience in basic Microsoft Office software applications including Word and Excel.
Must be able to work any shift, overtime and weekends as required.
Must be able to travel as necessary.
Documented Training (college courses or attendance at a 5 day course) in fatigue and/or DT and/or fracture mechanics is a plus.
EDUCATION:
BS in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering + 8 years Experience in Fatigue and/or Damage Tolerance and/or Fracture Mechanics.
