RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Aircraft Electrical Systems Engineer will be responsible for executing systems engineering, electrical engineering, and electrical analysis activities related to the integration and modification of Aircraft Electrical Power Systems (EPS), and Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS), and will act as the technical subject matter expert for EPS and EWIS modifications on military and commercial aircraft integration and modification programs.
System integration responsibilities will include:
⢠Power system architecture and concept development
⢠Equipment and component source selection and trade studies
⢠Requirements interpretation, derivation, allocation, and development
⢠Interface definition and control
⢠Electrical and electronic control design
⢠Schematic, block diagram, and one-line diagram development
⢠Support of hardware and software development and qualification
⢠Development of installation layouts and design concepts
⢠Qualification and integration test planning and execution
⢠Writing specification, interface control, and analysis documents
Electrical analysis responsibilities will include:
⢠Power system sizing and performance analysis
⢠EWIS analysis including power protection and sizing
⢠Electrical Loads Analysis
⢠Review and support of detail design drawings
Other responsibilities will include:
⢠Cost account management using the earned value management system
⢠Working independently within an IPT environment.
⢠Meeting cost and schedule objectives
⢠Communicating with suppliers and customers
⢠Giving technical presentations
Additional responsibilities will include supporting the development of technical concepts for new business pursuits and participating on technical teams on IRAD projects. The successful candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to be an independent contributor on aircraft modification projects and participate on cross-functional teams with strong communication skills.
Demonstrated experience in a set of the following is strongly desired:
Experience performing power system sizing and protection analysis or design
Experience with relay logic, programmable logic controllers, electric motors or other machine control design.
Experience with design, analysis or verification in accordance with MIL-E-7016, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, or AS50881.
Experience developing specifications, interface control documents, and performing trade studies.
Experience with aircraft distributed power systems and solid state protection and control devices.
Experience with power simulation tools, circuit design and analysis, battery analysis, or protection design and analysis.
Experience with integration, test, validation and verification of product requirements
Lab or aircraft troubleshooting experience.
Experience with analytical tools including Matlab, Simulink, or Labview
Cost Account Management including team Earned Value Management and scheduling
Effective in an Integrated Product Team environment with broad responsibilities and minimal functional oversight.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must have experience and proficiency with standard office software such as MS-Word, Outlook, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Must be able to travel as required.
Must be able to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering + 4 years of relevant professional experience in aircraft electrical systems integration, electrical power electronics, control systems, or electrical power generation, transmission and distribution, or a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters degree in electrical, systems, or industrial engineering + 2 years of professional experience in aircraft electrical systems integration, electrical power electronics, control systems, or electrical power generation, transmission and distribution.
