Duties and Responsibilities

1. Directly responsible to the Production and Planning Manager:
2. To provide technical support and to manage a team of mechanics in their undertaking of disassembly / assembly / Inspection and repair of large fan gas turbine engines, engine modules and components.
3. To train teams and staff in developed or modified processes and procedures.
4. Advise on technical aspects of engine, module and component visual and dimensional inspections.
5. Co-ordinate work schedules and supervise team activities to ensure efficient operation.
6. To monitor and where necessary certify work has been accomplished in compliance with airworthiness and company requirements.
7. To take part in and assist with process improvement activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. At least eight years working experience in the civil aviation industry in the assembly and disassembly of gas turbine engines/modules.
2. Having previously held a position as a Technician/Team Leader/Supervisor/Engineer in an engine overhaul workshop.
3. Having held an aviation authority "approved company" internal work sign off authorisation / approval.
4. Have a working knowledge of airworthiness regulations.
5. Conversant with engine manuals, technical publications and documentation control procedures.
6. Good command of written and spoken English is essential.
7. A Higher Certificate or Diploma (or equivalent) in a related technical subject is desired.
8. Conversant with SAP business Systems would be advantages.
