To plan and supervise the maintenance and repair work conducted by Electrical Technicians and semi-skilled personnel in support of Al Jawf Class Minehunters. The incumbent is responsible for training the assigned personnel in all aspects of this posts. To be responsible for the Maintenance of Ship and FSU fitted equipment and deploy staff as required. Maintenance of the Al Jawf Class Minehunters and associated support equipment in accordance with the RSNF Al Jawf Class Maintenance Management System.
Recruitment Specification The following qualification and experience are essential for this post: Higher National Certificate/Ordinary National Certificate or equivalent professional qualification, or a combination of training and experience which provides an equivalent educational standard. Recruitment The job holder should have the following background: Working in the field of Electrical engineering within a supervisory capacity. A good working knowledge of the electrical equipment fitted in the "Sandown" class ships is beneficial. Substantial supervisory experience in a military or commercial workshop would be suitable.
The Job Holder is accountable for the following: To delegate and supervise maintenance and repair work carried out by the foreman and technicians on Al Jawf Class Minehunter. The work covered includes but is not limited to, power generation and distribution, air conditioning, motors and starters, machinery control systems, Hull Vibration Monitoring Equipment (HVME), Compasses, Wind Speed and Direction and Correlation Magnetic Speed (CMS) Log. To maintain control and discipline over subordinate staff in the working environment to ensure that acceptable standards of behaviour are maintained. Advise the Electrical Shophead of any personnel related problem and assist him in preparing the periodic appraisals. To liaise with the QA Department to establish, implement and maintain a system for the calibration maintenance and testing of all test-equipment. To ensure implementation of document control and local procedures. To assist the Shophead in personnel matters. To ensure that adequate staff training is provided throughout the shop, informing the shophead of all training requirements. To undertake all other duties as assigned on Al Jawf Class Minehunters. To comply with all RSNF directives, safety procedures and Codes of Practice. To observe confidentiality of RSNF data. The RSNF may designate this billet as a training billet. The incumbent will be required to impart his knowledge of position-related skills, duties and responsibilities in such a manner as permit assimilation on the part of the RSNF trainee. Maintenance of the Al Jawf Class Minehunters and associated support equipment in accordance with the RSNF Al Jawf Class Maintenance Management System
The Job Holders work is directed as follows: The Job Holder is tasked by the Electrical Division Shophead The job holder needs to seek approval for tasks completed on a daily basis. Performance is reviewed practically on a daily basis and in accordance with PDR procedures every 6 months at least.
