My client based in North Stevenage was established in 1985 in the field of electronic manufacturing services. Their clients range from specialized laboratory and medical equipment manufacturers to recognized international industrial companies. Their building covers some 25,000 sq ft of the latest in production facilities for surface mount, thru-hole, cable assembly, testing, inspection and finishing


Role
You will be working in the Production Department and will report to the Production Manager and you will be directly supervising Production Operatives


MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To supervise production to ensure maximum productivity without compromising quality. To support and be involved in staff training.

MAIN DUTIES
Ensure the company's quality, cost and delivery targets are met. To be aware of customer requirements, deadlines and changes, implementing the labour required to complete task.

Liaise with Production Planning to review the coming week's activities.

Allocate jobs to staff to meet production standards.

Ensure the correct use of equipment in the work area.

Complete production and company documentation as required.

Liaise with customers and suppliers as appropriate.

Liaise with Operations Director and Assembly Trainer to ensure staff are trained to necessary skill level.

Assist with staff recruitment when necessary.

Ensure periodic checks and routine maintenance is carried out on equipment within the work area.

Ensure the company's health and safety policy is adhered to within the work area.

Participate in performance assessments of direct reportees.

In conjunction with Management ensure shop floor discipline is maintained.

Monitor holidays and absenteeism and hold meetings with team members within the work area

Support the company's continuous improvement programme.


Package

Salary £21,000 per annum ( £10.76 on PAYE basis )

Hours 37.5 hours a week

Times 7.30am till 4.00pm Mon - Thurs and till Midday on a Friday
8.30am till 5.00pm Mon - Thurs and till 1.00pm

Status Temp to perm, with terms being offered after a minimum 13 worked weeks

Benefits 20 days holiday per annum and Non-contributory pension
