Our Major Aerospace Client at Boscombe Down, Wiltshire has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Planner (Avionic and Eelctrical) for an initial 6 months contract.

Our Client is looking for a Manufacturing Planner (Avionic and Electrical) to work within our UK Material Review Board (MRB) and Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team based out of Boscombe Down, United Kingdom. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing tasks associated with the modification of the CH-47 Chinook aircraft. Experience in producing manufacturing engineering plans is preferred, however current aircraft Manufacturing / Engineering experience is required. Appropriate training in the Boeing planning systems will be given post-employment.

As a Manufacturing Planner within you will be required to:

  • Develop, implement and maintain various manufacturing plans Bill of Materials, work instructions and illustrations to define and document the aircraft as-built configuration.
  • Assist with development and integration of supplier's processes, materials data and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements.
  • Assist in reviewing supplier data to ensure manufacturing related requirements are met.
  • Work with the modification team to identify process improvements and efficiencies
  • Identify tooling requirements and initiate tooling orders based on manufacturing and engineering requirements.
  • Assists in tooling dispositions.
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing engineering issues.
  • Assist with producibility assessments for part or product designs.
  • Assist in providing input to design manufacturing processes and manufacturing technologies to meet cost and schedules.
  • Develop work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments.
  • Assist in the review maintenance and monitoring of internal documents.
  • Plan work, and use meaningful metrics to evaluate project status and provide performance visibility.
  • Work under minimal direction.

The MRB/ME team is expected to grow and this post would suit a current engineer who is looking for the opportunity to develop in a growing team within a large organization.

The successful candidate will have the following experience, education, skills and capabilities:

Essential:

Experience with aircraft Electrics and Avionic systems.

Knowledge of Military Airworthiness Authority (MAA) Regulatory Articles (RAs).

Manufacturing planning experience.

Strong communication skills.

Computer skills and proficiency with MS Office including MS Word and, MS Excel.

Desirable:

Experience with BaaN, MES or another electronic manufacturing system.

Aircraft Systems/Software experience.

Rotary wing modification design knowledge.

Some UK and US travel is expected
