Contract: Full time, 39 hours per week (10 week shift roster comprising of earlies/days/lates/nights)

Set in the heart of the Chilterns, RAF Halton is home to servicemen and women from the RAF, Army and Royal Navy and supports the delivery of leadership training to Non-Commissioned Officers, along with basic and specialist training to new RAF recruits. Serco has been the incumbent service provider at RAF Halton since 1997 and we are responsible for delivering management, non-aircraft engineering, technical and catering, retail and leisure services.

We are currently seeking a Driver to join the team at RAF Halton, who will be responsible to the Transport Services Manager via the Deputy Transport Services Manager/Scheduler

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out all driving duties as detailed by the Deputy Transport Manager/scheduler in accordance with their driver licence qualifications.
* Carry out all driving duties within the scope of current road traffic legislation, transport law and service publications.
* Ensure vehicle daily/weekly before, during and after use checks are carried out iaw vehicles specifications and requirements.
* Ensure all transport services driver and vehicle documentation is complied iaw relevant publications.
* Ensure all vehicle defects are reported to MT Control Staff iaw regulations and service publications.
* The correct completion and maintenance of digital tachograph charts/print outs.
* The refuelling, washing vacuuming, checking of fluids and tyre condition of all vehicles as required to the standard expected by the service.
* Ensure a high level of professional appearance and driving standards on all occasions.
* Ensure prompt time keeping is observed to ensure tasks are met on time.
* Implement the Health and Safety Act (1974) within the areas of his/her responsibility.
* Undertake such duties and responsibilities as delegated by senior management.

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
* Must hold PCV Licence Cat “D” driving licence. (Manual)
* Ideally hold a full Large Goods Vehicle Cat “C” licence. (Manual)
* Be in possession of a driver card and certificates to show driver CPC training attended.
* Be in possession of a digital tachograph card and have awareness in the use of analogue tachographs.
* Be capable of working on own initiative and have a flexible approach to departmental requirements and with excellent time keep ability.
* Strong team worker and excellent communication skills.
* Be flexible in approach to work and have an ability to carry out, where necessary, other tasks essential to the smooth running of the section.
* Should be strongly customer focused and have a strong awareness of client needs.
* Must be prepared to be part of a roster which encompasses early/late starts, days/nights during the week and at weekends.
* Further training would be considered for the right candidate.
