Director of Engineering & Maintenance

CAE Parc Aviation are exclusively assisting a key client with the position of Director of Engineering & Maintenance.

The Director will be responsible for the overall management and development of the Engineering & Maintenance department within the airline.

They will lead, motivate and enable all staff within the department to provide a safe, reliable and cost effective service to the airlines and its customers.

The Director of Engineering & Maintenance will act as the nominated postholder under the accountable manager for both Continued Airworthiness and MRO activities.

Duties & Responsibilities**

  • Ensures that the work of every employee within the department is performed in compliance with current regulations.
  • Ensures the work is performed in accordance with industrial safety regulations and other company regulations.
  • Assures that the work is performed in the most cost-conscious manner.
  • Participates in the continuous improvement process

Requirements

  • A University degree in Aeronautics or and EASA AML holder with extensive experience within the aviation/ MRO industry.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a manager within the Aviation industry.
  • Must be acceptable to the local aviation authority as an EASA Form 4 Post Holder for Part M & Part 145.
  • A detailed knowledge of internal processes within an Engineering & Maintenance Organisation
  • Must have a detailed understanding of Part M and Part 145 requirements
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance economics, budgeting and continuous improvement systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to interact and network internally and externally
  • Must be self-motivating and accurate with strong organisational skills.
  • Leads by example and motivates employees through good communication
  • Cost cautious with a good understanding of economics within aviation engineering & maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

 

Languages

  • A high standard of English is essential

IT

  • MS Office Applications: Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Technical Expert Systems (Advantageous)
