RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs new products and makes improvements to existing products using computer aided design (CAD). May evaluate products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability and ensure project completion. Works with other members of the engineering staff to ensure that production is completed in a timely manner.
Mechanical design and inspection of distillation equipment - This position is responsible for taking the process distillation internals and creating the mechanical design and creating the mechanical drawing package using CAD. This package will be used by the internals manufacturer to construct the internals and the installer to erect the internals. Inspection of the internals at the manufacturing shop is also one of the functions of this job.
Field work and Fabrication Shop Training required to travel to shops and customer sites. Understanding and strictly following Client Safety procedures especially when leaving the office environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Strong attention to detail and ability to self check own work and produce error free drawings. Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet project milestones. Understanding of piping, sheet metal and vessel mechanical design. Ability to modify work process to improve productivity based on constructive feedback. Ability to seek feedback and ask for help when unsure to minimize rework. Communicates progress accurately and in a timely fashion.
EDUCATION:
2 Yr. Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Computer Aided Drafting & Design (CADD)
