RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform database design, modification, development, security, backup, tuning, and maintenance activities in support of computing systems in the Commercial Airplanes Group. Analyze and resolve application performance issues in coordination with customers and other Database Administrators (DBA). Ensure integration of SOW requirements and project plans between major project activities. Document processes and procedures and ensure compliance with EDM¿s database standards, practices and methodologies inclusive of security, hardware, software, and configuration management. Develop, implement, and document application support processes such as Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) findings, ITAR and EAR restrictions, etc. The nature of the work requires periodic unscheduled (on-call) support outside normal business hours. Carrying a pager, cell phone, and laptop will be required to ensure contact during these periods.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
The candidate must have five years of experience with Oracle¿s RDBMS as a DBA. He or she must have strong communication skills, should work effectively within a team as well as individually and independently, and have the ability to work in a fast paced environment. The job requires experience with sqlserver 2008 R2 and Oracle RDBMS 9i,10g, and 11g. A working knowledge of Oracle Backup/Recovery (RMAN), Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Performance Tuning, SQL and PL/SQL. Candidate must have at least 3 years of 11g RAC experience. This includes installing and patching software, configuring the rac cluster and troubleshooting. Desire experience with Oracle on HP-UX, sun and windows servers. Familiarity with shell scripting ¿ Bourne, Korn, or BASH, knowledge of Oracle Dataguard, ASM and experience with other database performance tools such as Toad or InDepth. Also desirable: Familiarity with SOX processes. SQL Server experience with TSQL, NT Shell Scripting, and recent experience with SQL Server tuning. Installation,configuration and administration of COTS Software packages and associated databases.
Typically the person in this position has five or more years of Database Administration experience.
