Job description

Safran Landing Systems in Gloucester has an exciting position for a Product Support Engineer within Customer Services.

In this role you will report to the Product Support Engineering Manager within the Customer Services department. This is a key role in supporting internal and external customers, with associated activities to improve the flexibility of Safran landing Systems' offerings and speed to get solutions to the Airline issues.

You would be responsible for the development of On-wing repair schemes, project management of Technical Events and communication of technical information to the customer via our Customer Support Network. Communication can range from answering queries via email/phone through to presenting solution development to an Air-framer or Airline(s).

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

*Providing technical support to Customers through our 24/7/365 AOG service as part of an on-call team.
*Technical Liaison, Engineering Support & Incident management
*Technical Publications compilation/review - CMM/SB/SIL
*Technical Support to Constructor/Customer Service Centres/Airlines
*Assessment or product performance: Reliability, Maintainability & Supportability
*Life management Analysis for continued airworthiness
*Programme management support
*Spares Engineering
*Support Engineering Technical Data & Systems Management
*Development of Customer Training

Candidate skills and requirements

Candidates must have an Engineering related Degree/HND with experience in a relevant industrial environment. To succeed in this role you need to be customer focused and you will be expected to demonstrate excellent problem solving, communication and team-working skills with the ability to influence others.

To carry out the role effectively you will have a background in Mechanical and/or Hydraulic Systems Engineering and are likely to have an understanding of Airworthiness and working in highly regulated environment plus knowledge of aircraft component and systems operations. Knowledge of customers and Air-framer specific requirements would be beneficial. In addition to your strong technical background ideal candidates will also have good data analysis/manipulation, report writing and presentation skills (typically but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
