Crew Planning Manager

Line Up Aviations long standing client, a fast growing scheduled airline operating under EU OPS standards with an extensive Domestic and International Route network is seeking applicants for the position of Manager Crew Planning.

Duties and responsibilities

Manage a Crew Planning team to publish monthly flight and cabin crew rosters.

Oversee crew rosters for legality, quality and efficiency.

Determine crew manpower (establishment) requirements, including long-term plans and strategies to support network/fleet expansion.

Manage the company’s Fatigue Risk Management System, including analysis of reports and development/assessment of company scheduling policies.

Train and mentor the Crew Planning team.

Manage actual crew levels integrating promotions, conversions, contractors and cadets and liaising with operations to ensure that recruitment planning is adequate to meet the planned schedule needs.

Control crew leave and other non-flying activity on the rosters.

Provide analysis and recommendations covering flight time limitation (FTL) rules or scheduling policy proposals.

Analyse and influence flying schedule and network/fleet decision to allow crew efficiency.

Provide superuser guidance to others in the use of the computerised crew scheduling system.

Maintain positive working relationships with Flight Operations, Inflight Services and Training departments.


University degree in a closely related field (legal
requirement for Work Permit).

Minimum 3/ years’ experience in crew scheduling at an
airline working to international standards (preferably following either EU Ops
Subpart Q or CAP371 derived rules).

Minimum 3 years’ management experience, including
people management, development discipline and recruitment.

Experience of manpower planning principles and
practical modelling.

Highly computer literate: both advanced Excel and
superuser experience of a leading crew scheduling system (AIMS, Sabre, NetLine,
Jeppesen or Geneva).

Fatigue Risk Management experience (previous use of
SAFTE-FAST ??or another leading bio-mathematical model desirable).

Fluency in written and spoken English.

Ability to communicate at all levels within the company and adapt to a multi-cultural
working environment.

Ability and motivation to keep to-to-date withregulatory developments (e.g. EASA rulemaking) and adapt to changing bestpractices.

Experience of negotiations with crew unions desirable
