Job Summary

Gate Gourmet is the world's largest independent provider of catering services for airlines and is the core business behind gategroup, whose eleven associated brands offer customers a comprehensive scope of products and services for virtually any on-board need. We provide more than 200 million meals a year to our 270-plus customers at some 120 airport locations around the globe.

We are currently looking for a Costings and Data Management Project Leader to join our team at Heathrow, West Drayton. You will be Liaising between the Menu Development team, Procurement team and Commercial team to collate all relevant information to produce accurate calculations and menu specifications for the unit.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Scope of the role

*

Ensure information flow is consistent, accurate and timely

*

Lead and coordinate Data Analysts within the team

*

To manage any allocated projects for the Operations Planning & Controlling department.

*

To ensure that the information flow between all internal departments and external customers is consistent, accurate and timely.

*

To ensure that the pricing adheres to customer requirements and that the menu specifications issued to the unit are correct

*

Responsible for ensuring collation, data entry and maintenance of sales and operational data on the Gate Gourmet costing database system (SACS).

Main Duties & Responsibilities

*

Liaising between the Menu Development team, Procurement team and Commercial team to collate all relevant information in order to produce accurate calculations and menu specifications for the unit.

*

Responsible for data quality. Take part in the procedures definition and in the processes control for such purpose

*

Responsible for the accurate input of data onto the SACS system relating to all materials and labour costs used for developing each menu item

*

Responsible for capturing all costs relating to menu production and generating prices in agreed format between Company and customer by the required deadlines.

*

To allocate the correct Catering Points (CPC) to BOM

*

Responsible for having a good understanding of product types and accounting for potential wastage of each product when setting up menu specifications

*

Preparing documentation to the sales department in the agreed format.

*

Creation, analysis and maintenance of a Profit and Loss schedule for dedicated customer account(s).

*

Accurate maintenance of SACS database, including list of materials, product prices and menu/product specifications.

*

To support on the invoicing reconciliation process

*

To provide accurate information to colleagues in the stowing / invoicing section to ensure that data produced by costing’s and stowing is 100% accurate

*

To maintain good communication with Manager and colleagues on work in progress and ensure that any concerns are escalated in a timely manner to avoid repercussions.

*

To attend departmental, operational and customer meetings as required.

*

To provide weekend coverage according to business needs.

*

To assist the unit with menu changes and any other ad-hoc operational requirements.

*

To update and maintain KES/KPI’s as agreed by Manager.

*

To identify and propose opportunities of improvement

*

If required, to support other areas within the Operations Planning and Controlling department according to own experience and skills

*

To be flexible to travel to other units as per business needs. Full UK driving licence is preferable.

Qualifications:

Education

*

Education to degree level or equivalent is preferred, but not essential.

Work Experience

*

Previous experience of managing large volumes of data accurately, preferably from within a costing’s / planning background within the airline or catering industry, however not essential.

*

Previous experience of working with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access

*

Good understanding of commercial and financial implications of costing’s

*

Good understanding of customer contracts and tender process

*

Previous experience of working in a role where strong attention to detail and accuracy was essential

Skills & Knowledge

*

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Access, Excel)

*

Very good knowledge of SACs

*

Understanding of basic health and safety, food hygiene and security regulations.

*

Good time management and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

*

Strong accuracy and attention to detail.

*

Good interpersonal and communication skills.

*

Strong numeracy skills

*

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

*

Ability to motivate self and others.

*

Flexible in approach and adaptable to change
