Continuous Improvements Manager

New exciting permanent position for a Continuous Improvements Manager based in Cambridge!

As a Continuous Improvements Manager, you will provide leadership and co-ordination of CI activities across Operations. The aim of the role is to facilitate structured continuous improvement projects and bring in innovative thinking that will enhance and improve business performance. This will include the identification of step change projects which will be achieved through training, facilitating, and coaching of seconded team members and the wider operations team. The projects will be developed up to the point of implementation and executed by a designated Ops project team.

The role exists to build a sustainable continuous improvement culture using proven methodologies associated with but not limited to Lean Thinking, Six Sigma and the Theory of Constraints.

Qualifications

  • Specialist knowledge in Lean Operations Management
  • Project Management
  • Coaching and Mentoring to ILM Level 5
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent.

Qualification Level

  • Operations Management or equivalent experience
  • Lean expertise

Required Experience:

  • Facilitation level experience in a structured Continuous Improvement methodology such as Lean, Six Sigma and Theory of Constraints
  • Project Management Experience
  • In depth knowledge of Aerospace industry and associated standards (in particular EASA part 145 and part M)
  • In depth knowledge of Quality Management Systems including ISO9001 / AS9100
  • Significant demonstrable business improvement and change management experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant leadership and management experience preferably in an aircraft MRO organisation.
  • Full working knowledge of safety management systems (e.g. OHSAS 18001) and ideally holds a recognised safety management qualification e.g. IOSH.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective communication with employees, customers and all levels of management and other departments.
  • Presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade, and/or facilitate discussions with customers and all levels of management.
