Composite Team Leader

Exciting Contract and Permanent Composite Team Leader positions!!!

Our South Easterly based aviation client, who is a market leader in manufacturing composite interior parts for aircraft are currently looking to expand their composite workforce, and have openings for PERMANENT Composite Team Leader.

PRIME WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Operations Management, other value stream supervisors
  • Support functions
  • Opposite number on alternative shift in the same area

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsibility for shift output to plan, quality and efficiency
  • Build a multi-skilled workforce across the range of activities
  • Produce work to drawing specification and procedural guidelines
  • Ensure immediate feedback is provided to direct manager where customer satisfaction may be threatened
  • To facilitate a culture of continuous improvement and to support (and manage where necessary) Business Improvement projects
  • Implement and maintain 5S programme in area of responsibility
  • Run daily production meetings with team to facilitate business communication and prioritise objectives
  • Ensure Daily Management Boards are upto date and are used to communicate and engage team & support functions.
  • Initiate and manage cost-down projects
  • Create a culture of ownership and openness
  • Manage time and attendance process
  • Initiate disciplinary process when appropriate
  • Ensure adherence to agreed PPE / HSE standards
  • Undertake administrative duties necessary for the smooth running of the team.
  • To coach train and support manufacturing staff in their development.
  • To highlight deviations to standard, implementing containment actions & countermeasures using structured problem solving where needed.
  • Train and ensure staff are working to Standard Work.
  • Maintain discipline, efficiencies and safety to the required levels
  • Monitor and maintain annual leave, absences, clocking, overtime etc.
  • Monitor and maintain WIP's such that scheduled adherence dates are met.

EXPERIENCE:

A sound knowledge of composite and mechanical fitting across all areas of the business is required. The successful candidate must be able to read and understand basic engineering drawings and procedures. Experience of using various hand / air tools. Ability and experience of working with adhesives including epoxy resins and silicones. Experience of Composite Bonded Assemblies. Excellent customer contact skills are essential. Computer literate. Good communication and interpersonal skills
