Based at RAF Waddington, AAR International Inc. deliver supply chain management solutions to the Royal Air Force’s fleet of E-3D Sentry aircraft. Employing over 70 people from buyers and logistics specialists to service support functions such as commercial, finance and IT, we also provide component maintenance, repair and overhaul for a wide range of aircraft components.
In line with our Sentry Availability Change Programme we have undergone a contract revision and in anticipation of contract award, we have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Assistant & IERP.
The successful candidate will support the Commercial Manager in the day to day running of the Commercial Department, with responsibility for the management of the Whole Life Support Programme additional work (TAF) process, inclusive of processing TAF’s from submission to resolution, training internal AAR employees in the contractual obligation and developing TAF Management systems.
You will also assist with the classification process for imported and exported products under the ECCN (Export Control Classification Number), provide advice and guidance on export compliance matters and manage compliance of all AAR Waddington operations in accordance with regulations.
In addition to these core tasks you will support on a wide range of commercial and contractual issues; identifying inefficiencies and developing management tools, providing support for the creation and maintenance of Part Master Records and coordinating with all stakeholders to monitor, mitigate and resolve risks.
It is essential that you are educated to A-Level (or equivalent) or have experience of working in a fast paced Supply Chain Management environment, ideally in an Aerospace industry related role and have knowledge of both NATO Codification processes and MOD business processes.
In addition, you will possess the ability to work as part of a multi disciplined wider team maintaining good working relationships with colleagues (both internal in AAR and external in Team Sentry), customers and suppliers and be able to manage conflicting priorities on a regular basis.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the UK and able to successfully undergo Security Clearance.

Main functions of the role
Working within a small team to support the Commercial Manager in the day to day running of the Commercial Department at AAR International in a wide variety of roles through utilising sound commercial and organisational skills.
Main responsibilities of the role
Responsible for management of WLSP additional work (TAF) process;
Processing of TAFs (Task Application Form) from submission to resolution of queries, reporting of financial status and final invoicing of customer.
Ongoing training of internal AAR stakeholders in contractual obligations of the TAF processes ensuring a consolidated understanding and preparation of TAFs and providing these stakeholders with a wider understanding of the process and promoting a forward thinking approach to additional work claims.
Explanation to customer and negotiation of additional work claims based upon a sound understanding of the overarching contractual terms.
Development and management of a robust cost optimised modelling system to provide timely and accurate annual through life management costs.
Working with stakeholders to develop in-house TAF Management systems and the automated TAF application “AutoTAF”.
Management of the Under 18K TAF Budget and Approvals.
Provide support to the Commercial Manager on a wide range of commercial and contractual issues;
Identifying inefficiencies, developing and implementing lean processes and management tools.
Provide support for the creation and maintenance of Part Master Records.
Population of an AAR Risk Management tool to record and progress both internal and external risks.
Coordination with internal and external risk stakeholders to monitor, mitigate and resolve risks.
Management and reporting of AAR’s efforts to ensure strict compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Ongoing training of internal AAR stakeholders in contractual obligations for WLSP and any other Contractual relationships.
Part Master Control
Assist with the classification process for imported and exported products under the ECCN (Export Control Classification Number) and HTS (Harmonised Tariff Schedule).
NATO codification of items with no NSN (NATO Stock Number)
IERP/Export Compliance Responsibilities
Provide advice and guidance on export compliance matters, specifically ITAR, EAR, UK and EU rules and regulations.
Manage compliance of all AAR Waddington operations in accordance with US International in Arms Regulations (ITAR)/Export Administration Regulations (EAR), EU and UK import/export regulations.
Manage Crown Immunity, TAA and licensing requirements for authorised vendors, including Non-Disclosure Agreements, Dual & Third Party National Statements.
Review and liaise with external agents including freight forwarders.
Develop, review and maintain trade compliance policies and desktop procedures.
Manage the classification process for imported and exported products under the ECCN (Export Control Classification Number) and HTS (Harmonised Tariff Schedule).
Review and release Repair and Sales Order requirements for Non-US vendors, liaising with Purchasing Team to ensure shipping message codes are maintained and up to date.
Review modification proposals for Export Compliance impact, assessing the need for TAAs with vendors and Team Sentry partners setting these up and managing them once in place.
Manage DDTC process and requirements.
Ensure all employees are trained in EAR, ITAR, UK and EU import and export regulations as applicable to their roles and responsibilities.
Liaise with legal counsel and Trade Compliance Department as required.
Dealing with Fabrication for Repair and related IPR issues.
Liaison with Security Officer regarding handling of Secret / US Classified information and assets in order to manage Export Compliance issues.
As business needs dictate, the post holder may be required to undertake additional duties of a level commensurate with their existing responsibility
