Programme Office
A placement within the Programme Office will enable participants to engage with the core Programme Control competencies including; risk, cost, schedule and proposal management. Risk management spans disciplines including managing risks and opportunities within assigned programme(s); facilitating at internal and external risk reviews and brainstorms and conducting risk analysis to help determine programme’s risk exposures and tolerances. Cost control spans disciplines such as; Earned Value Management, Control Account & Work Package Management, Management Reserve, Programme Office Directives, Budgets and cost & variance reporting. Schedule management will include baselining, maintaining and statusing a linked schedule and understanding the role of scheduling within the Earned Value Management system.

Quality and Mission Success
A placement within Enterprise Excellence will incorporate the roles of Quality Assurance (QA) and Programme Quality Engineering (PQE). PQE’s work closely with their programme managers, providing Quality Assurance on their assigned programmes. This involves working closely with both customers and suppliers. Specific tasks include development of and working in accordance with the Programme Quality Plan; ensuring compliance with contract requirements and the ISO standard(s); conducting Audits; developing Basis of Estimate (programme QA activities and estimates of time); and the collection, analysis and reporting of Quality Data Metrics.

Business Unit Support Services (BUSS)
A placement within BUSS will enable participants to engage in key programme and business processes helping to ensure compliance with Business, ISO Standards and legal requirements. Areas covered are Records Management, Data Management Administration, Configuration Management and Asset/Property Management and Production Planning/Control. This will enable the IT to get excellent experience and understanding of how data and assets/property are manged to satisfy the requirements for control whilst meeting the programmes needs of cost and schedule.

Systems Supportability
A placement within Systems Supportability Department will enable participants to understand and engage with the development of Support solutions for a variety of equipment and programmes. This will include understanding how Reliability and Maintainability can influence the support of equipment along with the development of Training and Technical Documentation, Support Equipment and Facilities. Additionally they will also be given an understanding of the influence of Obsolescence and the impact of Commercial off the Shelf equipment on the support of modern systems. The IT will also have the opportunity to see how Logistics modelling techniques influence the Spares and resources required to support the equipment through its life.

Support Engineering
A placement within Support Engineering will enable the participants to understand various aspect of In Service Support across multiple programmes. Areas covered are Supply Chain Management, Logistical Integration System Support including CLASS tool development, Field Services Representatives and Installations. This will enable the IT to gain experience of Lockheed Martin’s Products / Services and how we implement the agreed Support Solutions for our Customers.
