Job Purpose

Assisting the Business Development Director in developing and executing the organisation’s commercial development goals through the delivery of specific KPIs and excellent team management skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the strategic direction and achievement of the company’s commercial development goals through excellent team-management skills.
  • Manage a team of Business Development professionals and to meet established KPIs
  • Identify, plan and execute targeting strategies to introduce new customer business to the Group
  • Recruitment of other sales staff to the department based on continued organic growth
  • Successfully network and engage with both internal and external stakeholders to promote the vision of our client and the department’s role in increasing new business streams
  • Be a key stakeholder of a targeted master sales plan for the whole department 
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of sales activities within the micro team-unit
  • Assist senior members of the Business Development unit in identifying new opportunities for incremental new business revenue and be involved with the constant advanced qualification of new leads that come into the department

Experience Required

  • Extensive previous experience of airline, air-charter or air-freight sales and business development would be highly desirable
  • Demonstrable network of contacts within the industry 
  • Proven ability to manage teams for sales performance 
  • Experience of external marketing and sales campaigns
  • Experience of CRM systems and customer relationship technology 
  • Major foreign language skills desirable

Leadership Skills

  • Responsible for taking control and exercising leadership.  Initiates action, gives direction and takes responsibility
  • Supporting others and showing respect and positive regard for them in social situations. Puts people first, working effectively with individuals and teams, clients and staff.  Behaves consistently with clear personal values that complement those of the organisation.
