Aviation Labour Group Auckland is sourcing Avionic Design Engineers for one of our clients. This will be mostly long term contracts and open ended contracts.

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE INCLUDE:

  • Sourcing & procurement of the materials.
  • Discussing the client's needs & adapting to fulfill them.
  • Project management & live reporting to client on progress to agreed delivery dates.
  • Carrying out all test requirements.
  • Obtaining STC design certification approvals.
  • Providing release certification.
  • Liaising with Aviation Authorities.
  • Arranging shipping to the client's depots.
  • Providing a maintenance scheme to extend the products life.
  • Possess project/design management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Solid Works or similar CAD drawing skills.
  • Proficient in knowledge of MS Office Products (Excel, Word)
  • Ability to prioritize for maximum productivity for multiple projects
  • Ability to travel for training and/or customer interface, sometimes at short notice.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

  • Assist in the development of avionic designs for new products.
  • Create designs that meet technical, schedule, and cost objectives
  • Research and development of layouts and designs.
  • Generate production drawings and specifications.
  • Generate PPSC's and STC technical data packages, compliance documentation.
  • 2D & 3D design
  • Coordination with Regulatory Authorities for any necessary assistance and/or approvals
  • Interface with Project managers/ Production/ program/ product teams/ Purchasing/ Vendors/ Customers
  • Generate Trim and Finish drawings and top-down BOM's to support on time parts delivery
  • Current or previous approval to sign statements of compliance with NZCAA will be an advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's and few years' experience in the field. Product engineering encompassing components of the entire life cycle - concept to delivery.
